Swimming Training Programs
"I have been fortunate to work with swimmers of all ages and skill levels through the Monocacy Aquatic Club, located in Frederick, MD. While the complexity and intensity of dryland training changes with each age group and skill level, there are overarching training goals that are the same for every swimmer in the program.
1. Stay Healthy
2. Be Athletic
3. Get Powerful
For young athletes, teaching and practicing basic concepts like rhythm, stability and body control are keys I focus on. It is important to lay a solid foundation in this age group because if they can improve basic motor skills and coordination, they will be more coachable in and out of water.
For more experienced athletes, these same concepts apply. However, the complexity of movements and intensity of the training session increase. Resistance training is introduced to build strength and power through the entire body, while recovery techniques aimed at maintaining mobility in the shoulders and hips are practiced.
I am very excited to be working with Fitter and Faster to deliver world-class strength and conditioning education to swimmers around the nation."
